5Post Buys TopDelivery to Expand Courier Services

5Post, part of X5 Group, has acquired the companies operating the TopDelivery courier service. The 24 June 2025 announcement sets out plans to add home delivery to its parcel collection services.

Courier delivery plans

The former owners will continue managing the acquired companies. For 2025, 5Post plans to offer partners courier delivery in 64 Russian regions, with order fulfilment in Moscow.

TopDelivery's development

TopDelivery traces its foundation to January 2011. Its company history records the start of work on a proprietary delivery-management platform in February 2012 and the opening of a Moscow delivery operation in April 2013.

Online retail within the group

A separate X5 announcement on 19 May described the scale of its food and everyday-goods delivery business. X5 Digital recorded turnover of RUB78.2 billion in the first quarter of 2025, up 55.6% year on year. Customers placed more than 44 million orders during the quarter.

Stores serving online orders

At the end of March, delivery was available from more than 9,500 stores and over 40 dedicated online-order facilities across 73 Russian regions. The store network included Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Chizhik outlets. These figures describe food retail delivery, not the number of parcels handled by 5Post.

Company background

X5's financial release dated 5 May reported first-quarter group revenue of approximately RUB1.07 trillion, an increase of 20.7%. At 31 March, the group operated 72 distribution centres and 6,800 company-owned trucks across Russia.

The results cover the three months ended 31 March 2025. They provide context for the group's operations before the June acquisition and do not measure the contribution of TopDelivery to the combined business.
