Etalon Opens a Prefab Factory in Gorelovo

Etalon has opened a prefabricated construction products factory in Gorelovo, near Pulkovo. The group's 10 April announcement describes a facility intended to supply its own building-envelope requirements and reduce subcontracting.

More work moves into the factory

Research by the Construction Innovation Hub explains the wider coordination task. Its industry workshop highlighted early planning for transport, storage and assembly, alongside consistent inspection records. This is general research on offsite construction, not an assessment of Etalon's factory or evidence that the group follows a particular system.

From production to installation

• The factory needs the agreed component specification.
• Delivery must fit the site's receiving arrangements.
• Installation must follow the building's assembly sequence.

Factory ownership changes who manages these connections, but the components still have to reach a prepared site. Manufacturing and installation remain separate steps in delivering a building.

A separate module plant is still planned

Etalon also announced plans for a volumetric-module facility during 2026, including the possibility of finished interiors. Up to half its capacity is intended for outside customers. That proposal is separate from the factory whose opening has been announced.

The launch follows an earlier timetable

Kommersant's report on 10 April provides the investment history. It says the project was initially estimated at around one billion rubles, later rising to 2.8 billion. Earlier expectations had put the factory's start in 2022 and the first modular housing project in early 2023. The factory has therefore opened several years after the original target.

Those historical dates describe expectations at the time, rather than completed stages. The April news establishes a production opening; it does not by itself establish that every element of the earlier modular-building programme has been delivered. The next milestone for the separate module facility would be its own commissioning announcement.
