Royal Mail announced a partnership with TikTok Shop on October 10, 2025, giving sellers access to its parcel collection and drop-off services in the United Kingdom, according to Reuters. The agreement connects selling through a commerce platform with handing physical orders to a carrier.

Two ways to hand over an order

In its October 10 announcement, TikTok described Royal Mail as its primary delivery partner and said sellers would gain access to the services that week. The options include collection from sellers and drop-off through the carrier's existing network. Collection here means picking up an outgoing parcel, not a promise that buyers can collect every order from a locker.

For sellers preparing orders at home or in a workshop, collection keeps the handover at the dispatch address. Drop-off instead involves a trip to a suitable acceptance point. Choosing between them means considering where orders are packed, when they are ready and whether a parcel point fits an existing journey.

An existing network supports the partnership

The company announcement identifies several kinds of parcel point within Royal Mail's network:

  • parcel lockers;
  • shops and Post Office branches;
  • parcel postboxes and customer service points.

Different points serve different tasks

The list describes a range of locations, not a set of identical counters. For a seller, the relevant option is one that accepts the intended shipment and fits the journey involved in handing it over. A large national footprint does not mean that every kind of parcel can be deposited at every point. Nor does the partnership announcement turn existing locations into newly opened facilities.

Choosing a dispatch routine

The agreement adds a carrier relationship to the practical choices behind a shop's orders. Its value to an individual seller will depend on how those choices fit the business: where goods are prepared, when they are ready and how they enter the delivery network. These questions concern the seller's circumstances, not a single pattern shared by every account on the platform.

The October announcement establishes the partnership and its intended service access. It does not establish that every seller has switched carrier, that every parcel will travel faster or that a particular business will save money. Those outcomes would require evidence from actual use. The immediate development is a connection between the platform's sellers and Royal Mail's collection and acceptance services.
