HBR Introduces a Subscription for Senior Leaders

HBR Executive combines newsletters, practical guides, videos and expert discussions. The subscription is developed with leadership advisory firm Egon Zehnder.

Magazine, tablet and newsletter

Harvard Business Review has introduced HBR Executive, a premium subscription for senior leaders developed in partnership with Egon Zehnder. The offering combines management publishing with contributions from the leadership advisory firm's work with executives.

Several ways to follow the discussion

  • A weekly Executive Agenda newsletter.
  • Executive Playbook guidance published every two weeks.
  • Short Executive Masterclass videos.
  • Monthly Executive Live online discussions with experts.

The package includes digital access, six annual print issues, four e-books and selected business-school cases. Existing subscribers can upgrade through their account settings.

A partnership centred on leadership

In its announcement of the collaboration, Egon Zehnder describes the initiative as a place for reflection and learning. The firm connects that purpose with its view that leadership should be inclusive and adaptable while remaining attentive to people. HBR presents the subscription as a way for senior business leaders to examine pressing problems and understand the circumstances surrounding them.

The opening contribution

Egon Zehnder's first contribution addresses leading through overwhelm and developing new habits in response to a changing environment. That starting point puts the experience of the person making decisions alongside the decisions themselves. The partner's stated emphasis is on supporting leaders who are seeking greater clarity and a stronger sense of purpose in their work.

About the advisory partner

Egon Zehnder's services include recruiting executives and board members, assessing and developing leaders, coaching, and advising on board effectiveness. Its advisory work also covers succession in senior management, team development and organisational design. These are services of the advisory firm; the collaboration draws on that professional background for contributed editorial material.
